Halloween is always such a fun holiday to me. I mean, any holiday that is centered on candy (hello sweet tooth!) and allows me to get creative with makeup, is pretty much a guaranteed win in my book! But as much fun as I have playing around with makeup and creating fun Halloween looks, I also hate spending a ton of time and money trying to put together a Halloween costume that will only last a few hours in the evening, and only be seen by the fellow trick-or-treaters while I am taking my littles from door to door.
There is also the issue of coming up with a costume that will work with the stage of life I am in. Because I have little ones, I always feel like my costume needs to be something that isn’t going to scare the toddler, and that also still leaves me recognizable enough for the baby. But then I also need to be dressed up enough to satisfy the older kids and still be festive for the holiday. Yikes! That is a tall order to fill.
So I came up with a few fast and easy animal looks that seem to fit the bill! The perfect mix of “I tried” and “I’m still your mama”. I was able to create all 3 of these simple Halloween makeup looks using my everyday makeup from Maskcara Beauty. I then just threw on some corresponding colors and some cheap animal ears, and I was good to go!
Cheetah Halloween Makeup

To get this look, I used:
– Cinnamon Highlight (This is a highlight color for darker skin tones; but any contour color would work too.) – Linen Highlight (This is the color I use as a secondary highlight/brightener for my everyday makeup.)
– Cola Contour (I used this color to create the spots and nose for this look. But normally I use this color as an eyeliner or to fill in my brows.)
I started by using my Buffy Brush dipped in Linen highlight around the bottom of my face, and underneath my eyes. I then went in with my Detail HAC Brush to apply the Cinnamon Highlight around the top of my face and neck. Last, I used my Multitasker Brush for the details with the Cola Contour.
Deer Halloween Makeup

To get this look, I used:
– Walnut contour (for the top 3/4 of my face)
– Linen Highlight (for the bottom portion of my face, nose, inner corner of my eyes, and the spots)
– Cola Contour (for my nose, whiskers, and upper lip)
I started by using my Buffy Brush dipped in Linen Highlight around the bottom of my face, nose, and the corner of my eyes. I then went in with my Detail HAC Brush to apply the Walnut Contour around the top 3/4 of my face. After that, I went back in with the small end of the Multitasker Brush and added my Linen Highlight for spots on top of the contour color. I finished off the look by adding Cola Contour to my nose, top lip, down my cupid’s bow, and then for the whiskers as well.
Tiger Halloween Makeup

To get this look, I used:
– Yellow Halloween makeup from Walmart
– Linen Highlight (to lighten up some areas for added depth and dimension)
– Cola Contour (for stripes, nose, and whiskers)
This was a fun look to create! I started out by placing my normal, everyday highlight color (Candlelit) on one side of my face. I didn’t do any blush or contour on that side like I usually would; just the highlight color. Then I dived into the tiger side!
To achieve this look, I covered the other half of my face with cheap yellow Halloween makeup I found at Walmart. I think it cost $0.99. Then, I added some Linen Highlight with my Buffy Brush to add a little bit more dimension and contrast to the yellow. From there, I used Cola Contour to add stripes, a nose, and of course, whiskers. This look only took me about 7 minutes to create. Fast, simple, and festive! The perfect combination for a Halloween costume for a busy mom!
So, what do you think? Which look is your favorite?
