For me, Valentine’s Day has never been about having a significant other. It has always been about celebrating everyone that I love — spouse, kids, family, friends, and even myself!
Each year, I like to write my kids a letter letting them know how special they are to me. And this year, I will be writing this letter inside the cover of this book: Wherever You Are, My Love Will Find You. My mom introduced me to this book, and I literally was in tears as I read it. Not only did it make me reflect on the biological children that I have right now, but it made me especially emotional thinking about the baby girl we hope to one day add to our family through adoption.
This book not only captures how I feel right now, as I wait for that baby girl to finally be placed safely into my arms, but it also perfectly captures the love of her first mom. And no matter where that baby girl goes, her first mom’s love will follow her, right along side my own.
If you have never read this children’s book, you most definitely should. The message can be applied to so many situations: parenting, adoption, loss of a loved one, etc. And then just be sure to have a box of tissues ready!
