- Take a Bare Faced Photo: Yes, I know I told you you wouldn’t have to do this. But truthfully, this is the best way to get a proper color match. Only this time, you don’t have to send the photo to anyone — you can keep it for yourself! With a bare faced photo of yourself, taken in proper natural lighting, you can now compare it the the photos provided by Seint online (see below) to determine your best color match!
- Choose Your Level: Each Collection includes 12 different levels. Level I starts with the lightest skin tones, and then advances up to Level XII, which includes shades for the darkest skin tones. Above the different levels of each of the 3 starter collections, you’ll find a helpful link labeled “Find Your Shades.” This tool is designed to assist you in selecting the right level to match your own skin tone to. Each level includes 4 photos of women with similar skin coloring. You can then compare your skin to the photos provided in each level to determine which level is the closest match for your own skin tone.
- When in Doubt, Go Darker: If you find yourself on the fence between two different levels, I always recommend going with the darker option. One of the biggest mistakes I see people making when purchasing cream makeup, is going with a shade that is too light for their skin tone. So when in doubt, always go darker.
