What are Demi Colour Correctors?
Unlike a traditional foundations and concealers, Demi Colour Correctors do not use one all over color to match the tone of your skin or to place a mask over your problem areas. Instead, Demi Colour Correctors use color science and color theory to neutralize, filter, enhance, and add depth of color to key areas of your face. This then allows your skin’s natural beauty and radiance to shine through looking completely makeup free!
The key to Demi Correctors is twofold: 1) make sure you are identifying the right colors on your face so that you can apply the correct complementary corrector for neutralizing, and 2) only place Demi Correctors on top of the exact spot on your face where the excess color exists.
How Do Demi Correctors Work?
Demi Correctors require you to analyze your face and zero in on the areas that are the most distracting due to an excess of color. Once you’ve narrowed in on these specific areas, and determined what color the “excess color” is, you use the color wheel to select a complementary color from your Demi Correctors.
Your complementary Demi Colour Corrector will then be used to filter out and neutralize the excess color. And then once the distraction is filtered, the natural beauty and luminosity of the surrounding areas will be able to shine through, completely untouched by makeup.
Filtering Out Distractions
Distracting areas may include such things like melasma, dark circles under the eyes, blemishes, age posts, etc. For example, if you have melasma that you would like to cover up, you would first need to determine what color the “excess color” is on your melasma spots.
For most, Melasma tends to have a green undertone. And it is that green undertone that is causing the excess color. So in order to filter and neutralize that melasma, you’d need to use a color that has red in it. This is because red is the complementary color to green via the color wheel. Once you place the right color of red (it will most likely look like some form of pink) from your Demi Correctors on top of your melasma spots, your melasma should neutralize, and the appearance of melasma will completely disappear. And even better, there will not be any traces of makeup left behind. That is the magic of Demi Colour Correctors!
What Makes Demi Correctors Unique?
At first glance, Demi Correctors may appear as though it is just another color correcting palette to hit the market. But Demi Correctors are unique with only 10% opacity. Demi Colour Correctors will not only filter out excess colors to eliminate the distractions on your face, but also enhance your features. Demi Corretor O1
O1 is a Demi Colour Corrector staple for anyone with light to medium skin tones. This shade of pale/light orange helps to tone and filter excess blue in the skin.
Whenever you have areas on your face with dark undertones, this is an indication that an excess of blue is present. An excess of blue will create a dull, ashy, and shadowy appearance. And the darker the area, the more blue it contains. The shade of blue may vary, however. For example, if it is somewhat vibrant, this means it is more of a purple-blue. And if it is more dark and muddy, this means it is more of a green-blue.
You’ll often find an excess of blue under the eyes, in blemishes, scars, melasma, and visible veins.
You might also find an excess of blue in areas of your face where you are more pale or the skin appears dull. While darkness is usually an indication of the presence of blue, dull or pale skin in areas where there is naturally less pigment can also indicate the presence of blue. In cases like this, O1 can be used as a toner for light to medium skin tones when washed lightly over those areas. This will eliminate the excess blue, while toning and brightening the area.

Demi Corrector R1
R1 is a pale red (pink) shade that tones and filters excess greens. An excess of green is one of the most common causes of distraction on the skin, but also one of the trickiest to identify.
Having an excess of green often does not appear as green on the skin, but instead shows up as a dark and shadowy area that looks brown, muddy, mulchy, or even bruised. An excess of green most commonly appears in areas like the under eyes, bruises, scabs, newer scars, and older blemishes. You will also always find it in areas of melasma, sun spots, age spots, and freckles.
These areas of excess green often make an appearance alongside areas of excess blue, and therefore usually require the use of R1 and O1 together for maximum effectiveness. You might also use RO1 or OR1 in those circumstance.
R1 is also a great toner for lighter skin tones. It is not uncommon to have an excess of green in areas of your face where your skin appears sallow and dull. For those areas, R1 can be used as a toner for light to medium skin tones when washed lightly over those areas. This will eliminate the excess green, while toning the brightening the area.

OY1 is a pale orange-yellow shade that is used to tone and filter excess blue-purple. This shade is used most often to filter areas that contain an excess of blue and purple, but where the purple is more prominent. This will cause the area to look dark, but more vibrant/bright/colorful.

It can also be used as a toner for dark skin, cool blue-based skin, and dull reddish skin, as well as a bronzer to brighten and add warmth to ashy skin.

Demi Corrector Y1
Y1 is pale yellow shade that is used to filter and neutralize vibrant purple tones. While the use of yellow can seem like an easy solution for filtering dark areas of your skin, you need to be cautious not to overuse Y1. You should only be using it when there is an excess of purple, which means Y1 will likely only be used when pinpointing a small area.
When you see red on the skin, more often than not, you are actually seeing an excess of purple. This is because dark areas usually have some blue present as well (remember, red+blue = purple).
Excess purple can be distinguished from blue because there will be more vibrancy (some red) to the area. It is often found in healing blemishes, red-looking broken capillaries, or medium to dark areas of rosacea. Occasionally an excess of purple can be found under the eyes, but will typically need to be used in conjunction with other shades because most under eyes are more likely to have an excess of blue, and even green.

Demi Correction G1
G1 is a pale green that neutralizes and filters true red tones. While red can be pegged as a common culprit to most trouble areas on our skin, you must use G1 with caution. G1 should only be used in areas that are a true, vibrant, hot/firey red. This will likely only occur in small pin sized areas. The rest of the “red” will likely include darkness, muddiness, dullness, etc. making other shades necessary to filter out the excess colors that are pulling through.

Demi Corrector V1
The V in V1 stands for violet, and this Demi Colour Corrector shade is used to filter and neutralize bright and vibrant yellows.
It is rare to have an excess of true yellow in the skin. It is much more likely that you would see an excess of green or green-yellow (when skin looks sallow or jaundiced). This would require a mix of R1 and V1 to filter.
V1 can filter orange-toned fake tans that have faded to a more vibrant yellow shade. It also works as a light, but vibrant highlighter/illuminator for the high points of your face for a more luminous glow. V1 can also be used on your eyes for a vibrant highlight across your lids.
